Most Holy Name of Jesus

Jan 3, 2013

Feast Day renewed by Bl. Pope John-Paul II

January 3rd is the feast day of the Most Holy Name of Jesus.  In all of our Dominican ministries across the West from Alaska to Mexico this feast is celebrated with special care as it is the feast of the formal name of our Province.  We hope and pray that you will join us in calling upon that most holy Name to bring about peace in our world and healing in so many places, especially in our own country.  We also hope that you would add prayers for our friars, especially those just beginning their Dominican life, that through the most holy Name they might be filled with zeal for preaching that Name to the world.  Pray also that there would be many men and women who would join the Dominican family as friars, nuns, sisters, brothers or Dominican Laity to continue to praise, to bless and to preach that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Please do support the work of the Holy Name Society in your parish, or begin forming anew this wonderful service to God and His people.

If you, or someone you know, has a potential vocation to the religious life as a Dominican friar, please remember to contact or have them contact our vocation director

Please do visit our house of studies, St. Albert Priory in Oakland, CA
